Renee Weiss is currently the General Counsel of Millennia Housing Management, Ltd. She joined Millennia in 2018 as Associate Counsel, was promoted to Assistant General Counsel \u2013 Operations and assumed the role of General Counsel in June 2021. At Millennia, she oversees the broad range of legal issues, manages the risk management department and is a trusted advisor for all departments.<\/p>\n
Prior to joining Millennia, Weiss was the Associate General Counsel of Litigation and Operations for DDR Corp. (aka Site Centers). In that role, Weiss oversaw the landlord\/tenant litigation and bankruptcy matters for the company and worked with the property management department on shopping center operational issues. Weiss frequently presented at company meetings to aid with the training of different departments.<\/p>\n
Weiss has an extensive background in litigation. Prior to joining Millennia, she worked at the law firm of Taft Stettinius & Hollister, LLP (formerly Kelley, McCann and Livingstone, LLP) as an associate in the Litigation Department. During her tenure at Taft, Weiss had first and second chair management responsibility for employment, family law and general litigation matters. Prior to working at Taft, Weiss worked at the law firm of Baker & Hostetler, also in the Litigation Department.<\/p>\n
Weiss is a graduate of the Cleveland State University College of Law. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Miami University.<\/p>\n
Weiss is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association. She is also a graduate of the YWCA\u2019s Leadership Momentum Program, a women\u2019s executive, leadership program. Weiss was the co-chair of the 2009 United Way campaign for DDR, and has participated in the Junior Achievement teaching program. In addition, she has volunteered with Hanna Perkins, a non-profit organization that works with children and families, and has been instrumental in helping raise over $600,000.00 for the organization. In 2021, Weiss received the Smart Women Award from Smart Business, Cleveland. <\/p>\n
