The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides free lodging for cancer patients who live at least 40 miles or one hour away from their cancer treatment center. Recently, the staff of Somerset Village Apartments collected items for donation and had the honor of spending the day at Hope Lodge in Lexington, KY. The staff members made goodie bags for the patients that consisted of blankets, gloves, scarfs, soaps, lotions, etc. "Not only is the facility itself amazing, but also the amount of people that volunteer their time and provide meals, clothing and transportation is incredible," says Tasha Pruitt, property manager. Somerset Village staff felt humbled after hearing patients' stories of courage and resilience, and the staff members sincerely appreciated the patients' willingness to share.  As Hope Lodge states at its website, it is “More than just a roof over their heads, it's a nurturing community that helps patients access the care they need.” As a mission-driven company, Millennia is proud of the team for engaging in the community and making a difference.
