New Basketball Court for Silver Stone

Wednesday, August 17, 2016

Silver Stone has always tried working with our community children to keep them busy (especially during the summer months).  However, we never really were able to keep our teenagers active in our Pledge Program and other miscellaneous. events.  Well, not until we received our new community Basketball Hoop!

Previously, we received a lot of complaints from some of our older residents regarding the teens standing around, large groups which get a little noisy, and bouncing basketballs.  So we thought perhaps giving our teens a little work out time (on the court), they would burn some of that extra energy - and in exchange – our teens would agree not to bounce the ball after hours outside other’s townhomes on the sidewalks.  Well it’s worked!  The teens love and look forward to some court time each and every day.  It has worked so well, some of our adults who used to complain have actually ventured down to the office parking lot where our hoop is set up just to watch.  Lots of community compliments on how nice it is to get a basket hoop for the kids in the community too.  We have even had a few adults come down to shoot with the kids and ref a few games.  What a wonderful impact the new basketball hoop has had in only the week we’ve had it!

The kids are holding letters to say, “THANKS FRANK” with a big smiley face in the middle – all standing proud in front of the new community basketball hoop!

We are having a great time here at Silver Stone!
