On December 2nd, 2016, Millennia Housing Development received awards of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits from the Missouri Housing Development Corporation for two communities. These awards will allow for the transformation and preservation of two important communities.
Hyde Park Village is an existing senior community in St. Louis that is home to 48 senior households. Missouri Housing Development Corporation awarded Hyde Park 9% Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits as well as matching State Low-Income Housing Tax credits. Originally constructed in 1978, the property is nearly 40 years old and is in need of a complete rehabilitation. Residents will also benefit from supportive services through an on-site service coordinator and a partnership with the Gateway 180, a local service provider.
St. Regis Apartments is an existing senior community in Kansas City that is home to 85 senior households. Missouri Housing Development Corporation awarded St. Regis Apartments 4% Federal Low-Income Housing Tax Credits as well as competitive State Low-Income Housing Tax Credits. Originally constructed in 1914, this historic building is over a century old and in need of substantial preservation. Residents are St. Regis will also benefit from a partnership with the Department of Aging Services Mid-America Regional Council. Supportive services will include health and wellness education, Meals on Wheels, and transportation to and from medical visits.
MHD’s plans for transforming and preserving these properties are designed to correct longstanding physical and safety problems, enhance accessibility and security, increase resident comfort, replace components past their effective useful life, link residents to supportive services, and provide exciting new amenities.
